Loren Bustos

Loren Bustos is a doctoral student and DAAD scholarship holder at Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU). Her research project focuses on strengthening EU-ASEAN relations through the protection of human rights in economic cooperation. She received her Master’s degree in International Relations with Economic and Legal Aspects from the University of Szeged in Hungary and was a scholarship holder of the Hungaricum. She completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a major in European Studies at De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines. As an expert in international relations, she specializes in international and diplomatic affairs, global politics and human rights. She also has many years of professional experience in research, intercultural relations and involvement in non-profit organizations.

As part of her PhD, she is investigating the importance of human rights and non-economic dimensions in EU-ASEAN interregional economic cooperation, particularly in their trade and business relations.
