Call for Applications: Fellowship on Academic Freedom in China

As part of an ongoing research project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Science, we invite scholars specialized in modern China studies to apply for a four-week fellowship at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg.

We are looking for a researcher who is interested in conducting research on academic freedom in China. Prior expertise on this topic and/or the political-legal system of the People’s Republic of China will be a strong asset.

The stipend is 2300€, in addition travel expenses of up to 600€ will be covered. The fellowship can be claimed between mid-October and mid-December 2022. As part of the fellowship, the research fellow is expected to complete a draft article on a related topic and present it. Find more information about the project here.

Along with a CV and cover letter, we ask applicants to submit a one-page synopsis of the proposed article.
